The Affiliate Marketer’s Role

The role of an affiliate marketer is both an easy one and a difficult one. On one hand you are selling other people’s products without all the hassle of having to create them. On the other you are occasionally ridiculed for continually trying to ‘sell, sell, sell’ without actually helping anyone.

This latter aspect of marketing is, in many cases, just not true. Yes an affiliate marketer’s job is to ‘sell, sell, sell’. But the affiliate marketers who survive are those who do try to help people by drawing their attention to opportunities which might otherwise pass them by.

I’m in the fortunate position of being both an affiliate marketer, an eBook seller and an eBook writer. I love writing and helping others along the difficult road of making a career in selling online. But I’m not stupid enough to think that my writing output is prolific enough to meet all the needs of my clients.

As a result I am continually looking at other people’s products to see which I have found of value and, therefore, which I can recommend. This isn’t always the way of affiliates. Many are ready just to jump on the bandwagon of the latest ‘marketing craze’ without exploring the product at all.

For myself I like to buy products first, try them out, then introduce them to my subscribers. One such case is MOLB which I saw as exceptional value as soon as I read the first few pages. Amazingly it continues to bring value. Every month I’m sent a report by the author of MOLB which just goes on adding to its value – terrific stuff. (To read more about MOLB click here).

Those who know me, or have purchased one of my Monday Madness offers, also won’t be surprised that I apply the same rigorous test and evaluation routine to each product I sell. I purposely scour the Internet looking for products, eBooks, eCourses and software that I might find useful and, when I’ve found them, I offer them at a bargain price so that you can take advantage.

So, keep a lookout in your email box for a message from me every Monday and make sure YOU don’t miss out! (If  you haven’t subscribed to my email list yet then click here to receive notification of new offers and a free download manager).

  1. I agree that too many affiliate marketers just want to sell, sell, sell. I’ve got to the point of opting-out of their lists.

But some also offer good information and even the occasional free product. Some also advance into publishing and, like you are doing, offer their own products as bonuses for buying more expensive products from their affiliate links. I usually stay on these affiliate marketers’ lists because they offer value.

    I think there’s a lesson there.
