This is becoming boringly repetitious, but I do have to review these programs just to warn people against the unscrupulous vendors of nonsense like the Google Wealth Connection.

Here’s another newspaper style webpage along the lines of Google Home Affiliate and Google Profusion.

If you find this page yourself your local town will be at the head of the paper – mine is Maidenhead in this case.

Click the link to Google Wealth Connection in the ‘Steps To Work At Home For Google’ and you end up on yet another signup page for the Internet Home Business Kit.

It’s the same old thing all over again – pay only a dollar and a few cents for shipping, they say. But what they don’t tell you is your credit card will also be charged with the first month’s ‘membership’.

You’d think that Google would have pursued these people for misuse of their trademark by now? Maybe they’re having a hard time tracking these sites down (oh, really,they’re a Search Engine aren’t they?).

Today I was sent an email from a marketer inviting me to participate in online surveys. What I didn’t expect was to be taken to a site which ’sold’ a directory of online surveys. This is it…

This is a VERY attractive header, don’t you think? Note the happy mother and child pic and the money apparently flowing out of the laptop. Also note the major brand names – I wonder if they know their trademarks are being used for this?

Anyway I’ll let you into a secret. All you’ll find inside this site, once you’ve got past the One Time Offers for other ‘money making opportunities’, is a huge list of survey companies. Most of these are out of date and don’t respond if you fill in the applications. When you do find one or two that are still functioning you’ll be filling in survey questions for the equivalent of $10 an hour.

I know because I did try this some years ago. It took me a month of filling in daily surveys to earn $50!

Don’t fall for the false promises in the salesletters used by these websites. If you DO want to fill in surveys just do a search on Google, Yahoo and MSN. Ignore the sites trying to sell you ‘directories’ and just concentrate on the links to companies actively looking for survey correspondents in your country.

But, I assure you, there are easier ways of earning money than this.

Over the weekend I checked my sites only to find that every single index page on every site had been replaced by an interloper – the Q8hack. Luckily this wasn’t too damaging. About an hour’s work and I’d restored all the correct index files again.

One unfortunate aspect, though, is that anyone who tried to access any of my sites will have seen the hacked page and, unless they hit refresh when visiting again, their browser cache will continue to show the incorrect page.

However I got off likely. One of the sites at which I’m a member, Earn1kaday, found that their forum had been shut down because their webhosts had found an ‘infestation’ that was attacking and damaging other sites.

How these attacks happened I don’t yet know. Clearly the hackers have to break security to get into the servers to perform these ‘infestations’. We’ll probably never know the answer.

I could warn you, if you run your own sites, to always make sure you have a backup of each site ready to restore just in case a server hack brings your sites down. But, in my experience, people don’t bother about backups until the worst happens!

But it does remind me that I was going to write a report on avoiding email hacks and scams which are far more prevalent. I’m seeing more intelligent use by email scammers of clever tricks these days and, whilst I’ve concocted a recipe for avoiding these, not everyone manages to avoid the ravages of an email opened by mistake.

So I’ll start writing and I’ll get this report to you as quickly as I can. If you’re a subscriber you’ll get it for free.

You probably don’t know it but this is just one of several blogs that I write for on a regular basis. Isn’t one blog enough for anyone? Well, yes, it is for some, but you should never underestimate the power of blogs.

For example Yaro Starak started blogging in 2004, taught himself how to attract traffic by using the power of blogs, and now earns between $10,000 and $35,000 every month from blogging.
