Here’s a simple way to turn visitors into buyers!

If your inbox is anything like mine you’ll have been blasted, recently, by emails promoting Dave Guindon’s new Virtual Smart Agent. Before we go any further I’m not here to sell you VSA. I’ll leave that to other marketers like my friend Frank Haywood.

There’s no doubt that programs like Virtual Smart Agent increase the conversion rate of web page visitors into buyers. It’s just that I don’t, myself, like these ‘chat’ boxes that pop up when I’m leaving a page. If I want more information I want to read about it, or at least watch a video, not have to type silly questions into a box to be answered by a piece of software!

So I’ve found the ideal page exit program that does exactly what I want to see myself – its an unblockable exit popup that prompts the visitor to read more about what you’re selling. And it’s NOT going to cost you $97 or more!

uep-box-small-plain This neat bit of programming is called Ultimate Exit Popup, or UEP for short. I won’t go into how it works here but it’s a cinch to use, requires no reprogramming of your site nor do you have to install any code. You just cut and paste your web page into a neat interface and then copy the results to your sales page and upload it.

The really clever bit about this software which other exit popup systems can’t do is that it ‘waits’ for you to go to another website before popping up a message. So it doesn’t stop people from answering an email which has just come in, or quickly switching to another program which needs their attention. When they come back to your sales page nothing will have changed.

Only when they go to another site, or their home page, or go to close the tab in their browser window will the popup spring into action. It won’t even popup if your visitor clicks links to YOUR pages.

You’ll be able to see how it works yourself when I finish a new page that I’m just finalising now that demonstrates it in operation. Oh, and Frank Haywood sent me a new revision to his Nickel script today, so I’m about to test that too.

What that means for you is that you’ll be able to pick up this clever UEP software for a fraction of its normal $27 price; if you’re quick you’ll be able to snaffle it for just $1.97 when the site goes live.

When? I’ll have the demo ready by 3.00 pm EDT (8.00 pm BST) today, Friday 11th April. Pop back here then and I’ll post the link for this latest Nickel Sale. Get in quick and you’ll pick up another Monday Madness bargain for under $2!

Avoiding Procrastination – Part 1

Plan your way forward

I’ve just been receiving some mentoring from two relatively well known Internet Marketers, one who sells really good Software Products and one who concentrates, as I do, on creating Info Products.

Mentoring, at my age, and with my experience? Well, yes. For a start you’re never too old to learn and, secondly, working alone doesn’t always let you see your mistakes. You need someone else to point those out and a mentor from an associated discipline is ideal.

Anyway the very act of having these guys look at what I’m doing has started me thinking about how I got started selling online and what made the ‘breakthrough’. And it was this – the ability to overcome ‘procrastination’.

Now, if you haven’t seen that word before you really do need to know what it is and how it affects all of us. Procrastination is our inbuilt ability to put things off for another day.

At the time it all seems quite logical. For example if I apply it to a typical scenario that I meet everyday from would-be Internet Marketers it would go something like this…

"I can’t write a salespage because I haven’t got a website"; "I can’t build a website because I haven’t got a domain name"; "I can’t decide on a domain name because I haven’t got a product"; "There’s no point in having a product until I’ve someone to sell it to"; "I can’t sell to anyone until I have a salespage"!

Do you see how this goes full circle. Every step is a logical reason why it can’t be done until the next step is completed. But, that way, you’ll never do anything.

The point is that, whatever you’re doing, you have to take one step at a time. Then the steps become manageable. The best approach is to plan the steps you need to take, put them in an order which will lead, progressively, to the target, and then start working on the first step.

It’s no good trying to do everything at once. The lack of progress will just become disheartening. So, now you know what procrastination is, make a plan and stick to it. I’ll talk about the next step in avoiding procrastination in tomorrow’s post.

eBay and Digital Download Policy

I bet that many of you reading this would never have thought of eBay as being the ideal opening to an online marketing career. Most people I talk to regard eBay as somewhere to sell off their unwanted junk – a sort of online yard sale! Little do they know that many people make a more than comfortable living selling on eBay.

For the online marketer eBay has long been seen as the easiest way to start building an email or ezine list. The strategy that has erupted in recent years is to sell digital download items (ebooks or software programs) at exceptionally low cost in order to grab the names and emails of purchasers.

One of the problems that this has caused eBay is an apparent abuse of the Feedback system. By selling 99c items a new eBay trader can become a Powerseller practically overnight, and who’s going to give poor feedback for something costing less than a dollar, even if the goods don’t always match up to the claims made on the sales page?

So, as part of their Feedback clean-up strategy eBay has banned the auction of digital download products.

To say this sent a ripple of horror through the online marketing forums would be an understatement. For many sellers this new policy is being seen as the end of their careers!

Well all I can say is ‘Great’. Because now, at last, the incredible power of eBay marketing is open to sensible marketers. To show you why I’ve prepared a report which outlines exactly how you can use this new policy to your advantage. You can download it, there’s no charge, from here…
